This training programme provides an upskilling opportunity that can support career progression within the industry. It is ideal for front-line staff helping adults with care and support needs and workers in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres and other clinical healthcare settings.
This apprenticeship focuses on helping you to enhance three main elements in your chosen area – knowledge, skills and behaviours. The course is delivered by a dedicated Talent Coach and a Functional Skills Tutor (if needed). You will learn alongside your Coach through a blended learning approach which can include face-to-face, webinars, Skype, online learning and telephone interactions. You will complete your apprenticeship with an end-point assessment through a professional discussion and situational judgement test.
Knowledge – Your role in adult care; the importance of having the right values and behaviours; the importance of communication; how to support individuals to remain safe from harm.
Skills – Undertake the tasks and responsibilities according to your job role; treat people with respect and dignity and honour their human rights; communicate clearly and responsibly.
Behaviours – The 6 C’s; Care, compassion, courage, communication, competence, commitment.
