Residential Childcare

LEVEL 4

This training programme is ideal if you work with children, young people and families, either in residential care or in the community. By developing new skills and increasing your knowledge, you’ll be able to enhance your career prospects as well as make a real difference to the lives of the people you work with.

This level 4 apprenticeship will help develop your understanding of factors that may cause difficulty for children, young people and families; equality, diversity and cultural differences; safeguarding risks and requirements; child, adolescent and adult development; spectrum of needs and how they may be met; theories and guidelines underpinning sound practice; knowledge of legal, economic and social justice systems and policy frameworks to support positive outcomes for those you work with.

You’ll also develop your skills in professional judgement and analysis in complex situations, and how to reflect on your own role and performance and engage in continuous professional development.

COURSE DURATION – 18 – 24 Months.

COURSE CONTENT

Knowledge –The job they have to do, their main tasks and responsibilities; The importance of having the right values and behaviours; The importance of communication; How to support individuals to remain safe from harm (Safeguarding); How to champion health and wellbeing for the individuals they support and work colleagues.

Skills –Undertaking the tasks and responsibilities according to your job role; communication that enables the voice of the child, equality, rights, diversity and cultural differences of the organisation in which you are working, encourage individuals to engage positively with various agencies and community to ensure keeping them safe and risk free.
